About The Position

Monmouth Crossing - part of the CentraState Healthcare System- is an award-winning assisted living facility that offers residents the comforts and privacy of home without the responsibilities. The Receptionist provides routine clerical, receptionist, data entry support for the facility and for the Administration department. The Receptionist greets, assists visitors, interacts with residents and handles heavy phone traffic.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalency required or in progress with additional training in secretarial skills.
  • Three to five years secretarial experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Dementia Capable Care Specialist Certification required within 60 days of hire.
  • The ability to type a minimum of 50 wpm and computer experience including word processing.
  • Ability to use standard office machines including copiers, multi-line telephones and facsimile machines.
  • Writing ability with a working knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure.
  • Knowledge of business math.
  • Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Handles incoming phone calls made to the facility, including routine requests for services or information. Takes messages and directs calls to the appropriate person.
  • Is aware of System, facility, department policies and procedures in order to handle routine inquiries.
  • Greets visitors/staff and directs them to the appropriate location.
  • Deals with people in a knowledgeable, helpful and cordial manner.
  • Performs clerical duties. Drafts documents as requested. Proofreads all typed materials and makes corrections where necessary.
  • When applicable, opens and date stamps incoming mail promptly upon receipt. Distributes mail to residents and/or proper person within the facility.
  • Works independently following management's general instructions.
