About The Position

The Brook Hospital - Dupont is currently looking to add a Full-Time Receptionist to join our team. This role involves a Sunday - Thursday, 3pm-11pm shift. The Brook Hospitals prides itself upon the fact that our patients are referred directly to us by local professionals and organizations: physicians, psychologists, social workers, employee assistance professionals, community mental health centers, hospitals, schools, courts, social service agencies and managed care organizations. These direct referrals and our high patient and family satisfaction rates are a reflection of our effectiveness in treating mental illness and addictions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required for this position.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist in a medical setting preferred.
  • This position is a full time position average 40 hours per week.
  • Sunday - Thursday 3:00pm-11:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring patients for safety as they enter facility
  • Recording patient safety checks on a log
  • Relaying incoming and outgoing interoffice telephone calls
  • Visually maintaining a log of all patients waiting for safety purposes
  • Connecting callers with the appropriate staff member
  • Keeping a schedule of hospital vehicle use and keys
  • Ensuring hospital security by maintaining a log of keys in use and their return
  • Greeting and directing visitors and giving routine information
  • Enforcing visitation policies (i.e., number of visitors allowed per patient)
  • Enforcing hospital rules (i.e., no food in lobby or cafeteria, etc.)
  • Announcing emergency calls when appropriate (weather alerts and facility emergency codes)
  • Accepting patient belongings as delivered to the hospital from outside sources per Unit rules
  • Notifying unit staff of flowers, packages, clothing, newspapers, etc., and writing a receipt for belongings
  • Preparing outgoing mail
  • Working with the Evaluation and Referral department to distribute Patient Registration forms
  • Receiving, securing, and monitoring patient money and personal belongings stored at the Switchboard
  • Distributing and recording PRN keys and van keys to facility staff
  • Performing clerical duties as assigned
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor or CEO
