Shepherd Village is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Receptionist.

Requirements

  • Always pleasant, courteous, and empathetic.
  • Experience in customer service, problem-solving, and multi-tasking under pressure.
  • Skilled in interacting with clients in various situations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, especially with mature adults, their families, and staff.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain efficiency.
  • Flexible team player with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all organizational matters.
  • MUST be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
  • Successful candidates must provide a complete and current (i.e. within six months prior to hire date) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively and warmly greets all residents, visitors and staff either on the telephone or in person.
  • Provides calm customer service assistance answering a variety of inquiries and directing people to the correct staff member or seeking immediate assistance for the customer.
  • Performs a variety of administrative functions after assisting the immediate customer.
  • Ensures residents receive excellent care and services including those with memory impairment/dementia by increasing their comfort, independence and control in their lives and their involvement in all decisions.
  • Supports their families’ and the community’s involvement in their lives.
  • Positively influences and motivates everyone that comes your way.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Manage phone calls, visitors, and general inquiries.
  • Support the Management Team with administrative tasks.
  • Handle payments, mail sorting, and guest suite bookings.
  • Assist with Maintenance/Housekeeping requests and staff call-ins.
  • Notify Managers of resident deaths and distribute deliveries.
