About The Position

Provides general clerical support and customer service for the REC Center. Greets REC Center patrons and guests and provides exceptional customer service. Answers and handles incoming calls and interacts with the public. Provides general Center information. Verifies membership and provides entry to fitness area. Issues one-day passes and performs cashiering duties for fitness area entrance. Performs general clerical duties for the REC Center. Assists in the concession areas when necessary. Assists with daily reports and deposits. Assists REC Center Supervisor with scheduling facility rentals and events. Tracks memberships, fitness classes and walking track patrons. Serves as back up for the administrative office personnel when needed. Assists with various activities and events in the REC Center. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Skills in telephone etiquette, detailed record keeping, working with numbers.
  • Knowledge of computer and related programs, general office procedures, keyboarding, fax machine, copy machine and other various office equipment.
  • Knowledge of money handling, accounting and record keeping.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED training certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or an equivalent nationally recognized course in First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to learn all new software programs associated with REC Center.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to the public and fellow employees.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One or more years of experience or any combination of formal education and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Driver's License preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED training certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or an equivalent nationally recognized course in First Aid/CPR/AED preferred.
