About The Position

Schedules patient appointments to ensure good access to care for patients with proper patient/therapist case mix. Collects and processes copays and payments for services offered at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Registers patients verifying appropriate demographic and insurance information. Maintains a clean and welcoming reception and waiting area. Processes paperwork and clinical documentation in a timely and efficient manner so that communication between physicians and clinic assures safe and effective delivery of care. Checks insurance authorization for treatment and communicates benefits to patients and staff. Assures and confirms billing accuracy and works with coding/medical records to supply necessary records including copying, scanning, filing. Maintains excellent working relationships with business office peers, clinicians, and various referral source offices. Demonstrates a high level of customer service when working directly with patients, physicians, and medical departments. Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed. Works in a fast-paced medical office environment. Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize workload.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must adhere to NRMC appearance and attire policy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to complete competency for CPR/First Aid.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office competence with Word, Excel, Internet and E-mail.
  • Knowledge of operation of phone, copier, fax and printer.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient information.

  • Work in a fast paced medical office environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical office setting preferred.
