About The Position

The Receptionist at The Residence at Great Woods is responsible for promoting the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living. This role actively contributes to growing community occupancy by positively interacting with potential residents, family members, and professionals. The Receptionist handles all incoming telephone calls and greets guests in a professional and courteous manner, directing them accordingly. Key duties include maintaining the front desk, managing correspondence and mail, recording guest meal charges, and updating the communication log. The position also involves responding to emergency situations by contacting the appropriate parties and attending required in-service training sessions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic telephone reception systems and techniques.
  • Ability to handle all incoming telephone calls and visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner.
  • Ability to provide clerical support and represent the residence in a professional manner.
  • Ability to respond calmly to emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
  • Focused and dedicated to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and completely.
  • Six months to one-year prior reception experience in an office environment.
  • Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.
  • Visual and auditory acuity.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs. and be able to carry objects.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts.
  • Must be able to continuously walk, sit and stand.
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
  • Must use good body mechanics.
  • Must be able to type and use a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Typing or word processing experience is preferred.

  • Sort mail.
  • Record and type guest meal charges.
  • Maintain and file resident safety sheets.
  • Type correspondence as needed.
  • Coordinate front desk activities.
  • Maintain the front desk in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Respond to emergency situations by contacting the appropriate party (e.g., 911, fire department, police).
  • Attend required in-service training sessions and orientations.
  • Respond to residents' needs in a courteous manner.
  • Update the communication log book on a regular basis.
  • Maintain community brochures and stock.
