About The Position

The Receptionist at the Jasper County After Hours Clinic is responsible for greeting patients, registering them with accurate demographic information, and scheduling future appointments. This role also involves assisting the office manager with various office duties, serving as a liaison with the professional billing service, and ensuring the efficient administration of office operations. The position requires performing duties in a manner consistent with the clinic's objectives and maintaining a safe work environment for patients, staff, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and registers them with current, accurate demographic information.

  • Answers telephones, triages messages and schedules patients appointments/referrals.
  • Performs patient check in process including registers new patients, updating of demographic and verifying insurance information.
  • Performs patient check out process including collection of payments.
  • Assists patients and responds to all requests for assistance and information using a professional manner.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains demographic data/medical records per Jasper County After Hours Clinic policies.
  • Assists with end of day/month reconciliation and financials for the clinic.
  • Communicates with the responsible party of non-insured patients to evaluate financial status and ensure payments are made.
  • Collaborates with administrator and billing department for resolutions of accounts.
  • Revises and maintains financial records mandated by facility policy.
  • Provides supportive documentation for claims management when needed.
  • Assists with specialized forms such as return to work/school or disability or DOT exams.
  • Creates a work environment that promotes safety for patients, staff, and customers.
  • Reports any safety concern or near miss on the appropriate incident report form.
  • Maintains awareness of safety at all times.
  • Serves as backup for other office staff as needed.
