About The Position

The Receptionist provides front desk and reception functions for the community. This role involves answering telephones, greeting visitors, interacting with residents and staff, and performing various administrative and support duties. The Overnight Receptionist role also includes responding to resident needs during the night, ensuring community security, and performing light cleaning and laundry duties.

Requirements

  • One year reception experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Competent in organization and time management.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently.
  • Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees.
  • Demonstrate desire to be a team player.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Position requires sitting, standing and walking, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Job requires walking and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Answers telephones and greets visitors to the community in a professional, friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and friendly manner at all times and possesses compassion for seniors when appropriate.
  • Transfers calls and takes messages accurately.
  • Assists with resident activities and/or scheduling transportation for residents.
  • Performs data entry as needed.
  • May sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Ensures all guests and vendors in the building have signed in.
  • Keeps reception area neat, clean and organized.
  • Assists with marketing and mailings.
  • Assists various departments with office duties as needed.
  • Promotes and maintains positive relationships with co-workers, residents, family members and guests.
  • Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements.
  • Carries cordless phone and answers incoming calls to the community in a helpful, friendly manner. Answers questions, provides assistance, or takes and delivers messages accurately.
  • Responds to resident requests for assistance or emergency situations.
  • Cleans and sanitizes common areas of the community.
  • Washes, dries, and folds resident laundry and/or bed linens.
  • Ensures all doors to the community are locked and secured.
  • Understands emergency procedures and MSDS procedures for all chemicals used.
  • Understands procedures for blood removal.
