About The Position

This position serves as a Receptionist and Fire Alarm Monitor at the Puller Veterans Center. The role involves managing a multi-line phone system, monitoring facility security systems, and assisting residents, their families, guests, and visitors. Additionally, the receptionist will handle the sale of meal tickets, manage vending machine transactions and refunds, and maintain records of cash received. A key responsibility includes keeping a daily log of activities, facilitating shift reports, receiving and logging mail, and managing medication logs for pharmacy pickup. The position also requires handling vending machine transactions, recording reimbursements, and reporting vending issues to a supervisor. The role may also involve performing other assigned duties to meet facility needs and potentially assisting in emergency declarations.

Requirements

  • Computer experience
  • Basic Math skills
  • Knowledge of front desk operations including greeting visitors, answering phones, routing calls, and managing sign-in procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic office practices such as scheduling, filing, data entry, and document handling.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards in a healthcare or long-term care environment.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and visitor protocols within a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Answer multi-line phone and transfer calls to proper individuals.
  • Monitor fire alarm system and facility cameras.
  • Assist residents, resident’s family members, guests, and visitors.
  • Sell meal tickets to guests, family members, and facility employees.
  • Work with vending machine representative to receive refunds and disperse refunds.
  • Make initial record of cash received for employee meals.
  • Keep a daily log of activity for the shift being worked.
  • Give or receive report from guard or coworker.
  • Receive daily mail, log all medication into the Pharmacy logbook, and call units to come pick it up and sign the medication release.
  • Handle all vending machine transactions.
  • Record all reimbursements and communicate vending issues to supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the overall needs of the facility.
  • May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
