About The Position

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors and is responsible for creating a professional, welcoming, and customer-service-oriented environment. This position supports the daily operations of the school by managing front desk activities, answering phones, assisting visitors, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service, receptionist, administrative, or office experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic office technology.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a K-12 school environment.
  • Experience with student information systems and office management software.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist students, parents, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors and ensure compliance with visitor check-in procedures.
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries.
  • Provide information regarding school policies, procedures, events, and programs.
  • Maintain a welcoming and organized reception area.
  • Assist with filing, copying, scanning, data entry, and general clerical duties.
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, forms, and school communications.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with document management.
  • Support office staff with administrative projects and special assignments.
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies and notify appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Assist with student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • Support attendance-related processes as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding school information and procedures.
  • Direct parents and visitors to appropriate staff members or departments.
  • Receive and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings.
  • Support school events and activities as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, employee, and school information.
  • Comply with all school policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
