About The Position

Under close supervision, the Receptionist provides reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the campus office. This role involves managing incoming calls and visitors, assisting students and parents with various needs, and handling mail and other deliveries. The receptionist will also provide general clerical support, maintain records, and ensure confidentiality, while adhering to district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Professional conduct, including maintaining calm under pressure, flexibility, and respectful interactions, is expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone system
  • One year clerical experience in office setting

Responsibilities

  • Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  • Greet and direct campus visitors.
  • Maintain visitor log and issue visitor passes.
  • Assist parents in checking students in and out of school.
  • Prepare and distribute student identification cards, bus passes, and parking stickers.
  • Assist with the receipt and distribution of student materials, including homework requests.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries.
  • Provide clerical assistance as needed including assisting with the scheduling of appointments.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this Professional Conduct.
  • Maintain professional interactions with staff, parents, community and visitors.
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and withstand pressures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to change in routine and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Demonstrates respect, courteous to peers and visitors and assist fellow workers willingly.
  • Avoid gossip, or speaking badly about the district and district personnel.
