About The Position

Under general supervision of the assigned supervisor, serves as cross-functional clerical support for the SOUL team. Responds to questions and/or directs to appropriate staff member or program. Ensures the front desk operates smoothly and efficiently. Provides tutoring services to assigned students. Assist in the fulfillment of the Organization’s vision and mission.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with high school students and the public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
  • Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in high volume, fast-paced work environment while meeting established deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to display discretion and insight when dealing with others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that contribute to a respectful and collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, & public.
  • Ability to take direction from supervisory staff.
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
  • Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance in compliance with state law, and meet the organization’s insurance requirements for operating organization vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or other secondary language preferred based on the needs of the clients and population served.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily tutoring services to students on a pre-arranged schedule.
  • Maintain records of tutoring hours.
  • Collaborates with SOUL faculty to provide support in all areas of instruction.
  • Answers phones, welcomes visitors, answers questions as able, provides requested information, and/or directs to appropriate team members or programs as needed.
  • Maintains professional demeanor in all interactions with employees, students, and the public at large.
  • Maintains highest level of confidentiality at all times, including but not limited to student records and other sensitive information.
  • Travels for work related business using reliable transportation.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Works evenings and weekends as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
