About The Position

River Oaks Hospital, a private psychiatric facility in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is seeking a dynamic and talented RECEPTIONIST- PRN. This role facilitates the flow of facility information and provides a positive, responsive environment for internal and external customers via telephone and face-to-face interactions. The position also involves screening incoming employees and visitors to River Oaks Hospital.

Requirements

• Ability to greet patients, visitors, and staff pleasantly and courteously.
• Skill in answering and responding to telephone calls.
• Ability to route messages accurately and promptly.
• Knowledge of hospital security and safety procedures.
• Ability to provide routine organization-related information.
• Understanding of confidentiality policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic organization services, sites of operation, and event schedules.
• Ability to follow intake procedures.
• Skill in gathering patient insurance information.

Responsibilities

• Promptly greets patients, visitors, and staff who enter the facility, making eye contact and greeting walk-in guests in a pleasant, courteous, and clear tone of voice.
• Answers and responds to incoming telephone calls promptly, speaking in a pleasant, courteous, and clear manner.
• Routes telephone and in-person messages accurately, completely, and promptly.
• Maintains hospital security by following safety procedures for callers or visitors displaying threatening or other potentially dangerous or disruptive behaviors.
• Provides routine organization-related information to callers and visitors, consistently communicating within the boundaries of confidentiality policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of basic organization services, sites of operation, times and dates of routine and special events, and other essential information typically sought from callers and visitors, ensuring information provided is consistently accurate and clear.
• Follows the organization's intake procedures when patients or prospective patients arrive.
• Greets patients upon entry and gathers their insurance information.
