About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Shift Varies and would be discussed with hiring managers during the screening and interview process. The Receptionist/Interceptor is responsible for the collection of random urine toxicology and manages patient flow of the clinic by greeting and directing them to appropriate service components. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS: Ø Manage the Interceptor Desk during the hours of clinic operation Ø Collect urine specimens from patients in a randomized manner consistent with program policy and regulatory and accreditation agency requirements Ø Maintain systems developed for urine specimen collection so as to assure each patient’s urine is tested as often as required Ø Greet visitors and patients, Direct patients and visitors to the appropriate staff offices Ø Must use computer program to flag patients for casework, medical or administrative appointments for services needed to schedule appointments Ø Prepare all forms, books, labels and ledgers necessary for the collection of laboratory specimens Ø Prepare all laboratory specimens for pick up from the lab Ø Assure the availability of necessary supplies to collect lab specimens Ø Assist with assigned tasks to minimize lines at Nurse’s Station Ø Answer and direct phone calls as needed or indicated Ø Back up at Medical Records as needed or indicated Ø Maintain good working relationships with all staff, clients and visitors. Ø Reports incidents and makes recommendations to the Supervisor/Director on working conditions, procedures or environment. Ø Other related duties as required or directed by the Supervisor

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of previous work experience in a community-based health or social service setting
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must possess sight, hearing and digital senses or use prosthesis that will enable the essential functions of the job to be completed.
  • Works in a fast-paced, high volume environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior AMS experience preferred; knowledge of computer software programs preferred
  • Able to remain calm and be diplomatic
  • Good decision making and judgment skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred
