About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Receptionist- CHC to join their team. This role is crucial for the clinical and administrative operations of the health center, focusing on providing excellent customer/patient services. The receptionist will act as a primary point of contact, managing appointments, assisting with forms, and handling pre-registration and eligibility verification. This position requires collaboration with clinical staff to ensure a positive patient experience and maintain an environment of comfort and trust.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a medical setting.
  • Knowledge of community; skilled in communicating with people and understanding their problems.
  • Should believe in health care with dignity for all.
  • MA Certificate.
  • Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet patients/visitors in a helpful and friendly manner, determining the purpose of their visit and directing them to the appropriate person or department.
  • Check in and register patients upon arrival.
  • Assist in coordinating patient flow to meet grant requirements.
  • Screen patients for required demographics when scheduling appointments and identify new vs. established patients.
  • Inform patients of existing balances and educate them on future financial responsibilities.
  • Provide information to clinic callers according to policies and procedures, and transfer calls as needed.
  • Exercise diplomacy and tact to provide excellent customer service, practicing confidentiality and HIPAA protocols.
  • Verify method of payment for services and collect data and/or co-payments.
  • Complete daily batch reports and cash collections drop, ensuring timely forwarding to accounts receivable.
  • Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints, referring them to appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative functions including word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones, and data entry.
  • Utilize EHR/EPM systems effectively.
  • Perform other duties as required.
