About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Receptionist- CHC to join their team. This role is crucial for the success of the clinical and administrative operations of the health center, involving direct patient interaction and administrative support. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, manage appointments, assist with patient forms, and handle pre-registration and insurance verification. This position acts as a key link between patients and the healthcare team, requiring collaboration and a focus on patient comfort and trust.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a medical setting.
  • Knowledge of community; skilled in communicating with people and understanding their problems.
  • Should believe in health care with dignity for all.
  • MA Certificate
  • Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet patients/visitors in a helpful and friendly manner.
  • Determine the purpose of visits and direct patients/visitors to the appropriate person or department.
  • Check in and register patients upon arrival.
  • Assist in coordinating patient flow to meet clinic service requirements.
  • Schedule appointments, screening patients for required demographics, and identifying new/established patient visits.
  • Inform patients of existing balances and educate them on future balances and financial responsibilities.
  • Provide information to clinic callers according to policies and procedures, and transfer calls as needed.
  • Practice confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance with clinic policies and HIPAA requirements.
  • Verify method of payment for services and collect data and/or co-payment as appropriate.
  • Complete daily batch reports and cash collections drop, ensuring timely forwarding to accounts receivable.
  • Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative functions including word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones, and data entry.
  • Support successful EHR/EPM utilization.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.
