Verify and update demographic and insurance data in the computer. Consistently check voice mail and forward messages to the appropriate staff. Continually monitor appointment schedule, acknowledge appointments, and change appointment status when necessary. Monitor Waiting Room to insure patients are being taken care of in a timely manner. Responsible for contacting and rescheduling patients when behavioral provider is out of the office. Ensures proper use of all office equipment (fax, copier, PC, e-mail, practice management software, printers, phones, voicemail, etc.) in accordance with office policy.

Requirements

  • History of good attendance and positive work attitude towards co-workers and other health center departments.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • English / Spanish bilingual ability is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and to effectively support team goals and objectives.
  • Pleasant telephone manner; good memory and patience.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office)

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of secretarial program preferred.
  • Medical Terminology course completed within one year of hire.
