About The Position

The Receiving Utility will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, photographing heavies containers, and moving material or dunnage between departments. They may also be asked to assist with clean up as required.

Requirements

  • Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of inbound scrap and how to process the scrap to maintain production goals.
  • Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Communication – Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Coordination – Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Computer Skills – Capable of performing basic tasks on the computer using our in-house, Audubon Apps, system, Excel, Microsoft Word, and other potential programs.
  • Math Skills – Needs to be capable of doing basic math skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a hot or cold environment
  • Standard shift is 8 hours
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50-75 pounds
  • Must have visual acuity; capable of being visually alert to surroundings in the department
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, squat, sit, balance, twist at the waist and neck, and/or crouch to perform work over the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to work in confines spaces
  • Must be able to function in a loud, dusty, hot cold, or humid environment for the duration of the shift

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and skid steers
  • Operate Eddy Currents
  • Operate Dump Trucks
  • Assist in moving rail cars
  • Load and unload van trailers
  • Give breaks to Shredder Operator, Screen Operator, and/or Mobile Equipment Operator
  • Shoveling material, cleaning, and helping to maintain equipment by performing preventative maintenance tasks
  • Other duties as assigned
