About The Position

The Receiving Technician is responsible for receiving, processing, and coordinating delivery of inventory/non-inventory supplies and equipment in an efficient/timely manner. This role involves interacting with vendors, internal departments, and potentially patients/customers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly work area and ensuring security in restricted areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 - 2 years related experience.
  • Proficient PC skills as required for inventory transactions, data entry, selecting/executing reports, and analyzing data.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective/efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, processing, and coordinating delivery of inventory/non-inventory supplies and equipment.
  • Unloading freight from vendor's trucks and signing for incoming materials and equipment.
  • Verifying the count and condition of goods received, noting any shortages or damage.
  • Recording delivery information on a delivery log.
  • Verifying receipt of incoming supplies and/or equipment against packing lists.
  • Recording and entering goods receipt in the material system.
  • Sorting received items according to stocking location or destination department.
  • Moving supplies and/or equipment to appropriate staging areas for delivery.
  • Contacting vendors or distributors to resolve over/short/damaged (OS&D) issues.
  • Preparing paperwork for the return of incorrect or damaged shipments.
  • Communicating discrepancies with the appropriate buyer in the purchasing department.
  • Resolving receiving discrepancies or questions with the purchasing or accounting departments.
  • Acting as a customer service representative to customer departments for purchase order inquiries.
  • Resolving purchase order problems with the purchasing department.
  • Answering and returning calls to assist departments with supply-related inquiries.
  • Resolving purchasing issues for departments.
  • Coordinating the movement and delivery of freight to destination departments.
  • Assisting with the movement of supply and distribution inventory supplies to appropriate locations.
  • Maintaining a neat, safe, and orderly work area, including sweeping and trash removal.
  • Baling boxes.
  • Maintaining security in restricted areas and questioning unauthorized personnel.
  • Checking and locking exterior doors at the end of the shift.
