Requirements

  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in high-volume receiving required
  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, time management, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic Excel required
  • English required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, reaching, and working in refrigerated environments.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and related machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise inbound freight in compliance with SOPs, food safety requirements, GMPs, and organic standards.
  • Serve as the facility's fruit quality expert, ensuring all products meet company and customer expectations.
  • Manage the ripening program and monitor product readiness.
  • Evaluate, document, and track product quality using company systems and equipment.
  • Conduct quality inspections, taste testing, and seasonal quality assessments.
  • Oversee inventory, supply management, cooler organization, and FIFO rotation.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and ensure effective communication regarding quality standards.
  • Manage donation processes, receiving records, and data entry.
  • Train and coach employees on food safety, GMPs, and organic requirements.
  • Conduct audits, maintain records, and support facility audit readiness.
  • Verify supplier, transportation, temperature, sanitation, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure equipment, facilities, and contracted services meet food safety requirements.
  • Execute sanitation programs and maintain department cleanliness.
  • Support maintenance activities while preserving food safety compliance.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for team members.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager on hiring, staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and monitor team performance metrics.
  • Review payroll, approve time-off requests, and submit HR documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Expand and share fresh produce knowledge to improve quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Educate employees on produce varieties, seasonality, handling practices, and quality standards.
  • Support the region's 99.5% delivery success goal through accurate receiving and quality verification.
  • Ensure proper ripening, inventory rotation, and product quality management.
  • Demonstrate respect, accountability, responsiveness, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, company policies, and attendance requirements.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and training.
