About The Position

The Receiving Specialist is responsible for reading and interpreting production schedules, job router cards, blueprints, and non-conformance reports. This role involves safely operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and various materials handling equipment. The specialist will inspect incoming goods for damage, report box conditions, and perform necessary repairs for safe transport. They will also record incoming paperwork details, notify customer service of needed repairs, and check-in all stock orders. This position requires organizing parts, assisting in various shop tasks, conducting inventory checks, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • Read, write, and understand English.
  • Read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical documents.
  • Write legible documentation conforming to prescribed style and format.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Utilize all inspection and measurement equipment per procedure and instruction, including Durometer gauges, Micrometers, Vernier diameter tapes, Dial indicators, Profilometers, temperature-indicating devices, and others as needed.
  • Understand and apply basic math, including accurate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Learn and utilize safe operating procedures.
  • Strong reasoning ability.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret production schedules, job router cards, blueprints, and non-conformance reports.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and various materials handling equipment.
  • Inspect incoming goods before acceptance, checking for damage during unloading.
  • Inspect and report box condition, and identify saddles and boxes needing repair for safe transport.
  • Document box condition and required repairs on incoming paperwork.
  • Notify customer service if a box is in need of repair.
  • Receive and check-in all stock orders, verifying receipt against purchase orders.
  • Properly mark and tag all supplies received.
  • Match paperwork to the correct Purchase Order.
  • Notify appropriate departments of received goods and their delivery.
  • Disassemble housings and remove bearings for incoming rolls.
  • Organize parts on skids with tags identifying customer order numbers.
  • Assist in the blasting booth, roll prepping, roll taping, making bonding agents, and locating/identifying rolls.
  • Conduct periodic inventory checks.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including sweeping floors, storing supplies properly, and cleaning equipment.
