About The Position

This position is responsible for working in the meat prep areas, receiving raw materials, unloading trucks, and delivering products to the meat preparation line using equipment via forklift and other equipment, as necessary. The role involves working in a plant manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels, utilizing machinery, forklifts, and computers. The employee will be exposed to various conditions including moving machinery, airborne particles, hazardous materials, extreme temperature changes, and potentially high precarious places and confined spaces. The job requires regular standing, walking, reaching, handling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with a need for close-up vision. Overtime may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Self-motivated with ability to allow constructive feedback to grow in position.
  • Ability to follow proper food safety, quality and workspace safety procedures and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for an extended period.

  • Mechanically inclined, drive yourself to continually grow and develop your role.
  • Ability to adapt and accommodate change.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months working experience in a manufacturing/production facility preferred.
  • Forklift experience (6+ months preferred), training provided, must be willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Produces the required quantity of batched recipes within established specifications and tolerances and according to production plan.
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected/discarded materials.
  • Perform pre-operational equipment, preventative maintenance tasks, and process inspections.
  • Perform quality and sanitation functions per Quality Program and Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Report maintenance and quality opportunities with shift supervisors and/or managers.
  • Interface with plant ERP system to assure inventory control, lot traceability, and tracking.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, orderly work area.
  • Receive, inspect & document all types of raw materials coming into the facility, in accordance and compliance with function, quality and raw material specifications.
  • Responsible for appropriate inventor control practice utilizing the plant ERP System.
  • Responsible for moving materials to the meat preparation line via forklift and other equipment.
  • Unload products, input product accordingly in the plant ERP System.
  • Receive products, package products, store products in warehouse(s) in their correct storage containers per industry standards.
  • Follow protocols and procedures outlines in the operations manuals.
  • Responsible for unloading trucks with raw materials and dry ingredients from trucks.
  • Responsible for bringing product to the meat preparation line.
  • Support other lines, as necessary.
  • Finalize any paperwork during shift in an accurate, clear, and concise manner.
  • Utilize ERP system accordingly for moving in-process materials and products into and out of inventory.
  • Follow all quality guidelines, Master Sanitation Schedules, and maintain a food-safe, sanitary environment.
  • Inspect forklift per inspection schedule and clean/upkeep equipment/forklifts as needed.
  • Follow all workplace safety guidelines.
  • Execute the North Freeze Dry Vision, Mission, and Values (VMV’s) at all times.
  • Promote a positive, proactive environment where input from team members is valued and encouraged.
  • Provide back-up support for other roles, as necessary.
  • Available for overtime on a scheduled or call-in/call-back basis, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
