About The Position

The Receiving Inspector is responsible for managing incoming materials, ensuring accuracy in quantities and adherence to engineering standards. This role involves inspecting parts, processing purchase orders, and learning to perform First Article Inspections and handle non-conforming materials. The inspector will prioritize tasks to support customer and production needs, collaborate with the Quality Manager and Analyst, and assist with special projects. The position requires a strong understanding of metrology equipment, MS Office, and ideally, experience with MRP systems like IFS. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities, and a commitment to quality and ethical conduct are essential.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in Receiving and Inspection of manufactured and purchased parts with the ability to learn receiving inspection.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the use of general metrology equipment found in a light engineering environment (includes height gauges, verniers, calipers etc.).
  • MS Office experience required and working knowledge of MRP system, IFS is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills; written, oral, and inter-personal.
  • Ability to operate Powered Industrial Trucks and pass certification.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the valve, casting, machining, and PCB industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Place incoming material into Arrived Status in MRP system.
  • Confirm part quantity matches PO quantity.
  • Inspect parts to Engineering documents standards and specifications.
  • Receive purchase orders into the MRP system once parts are verified as acceptable.
  • Learn to complete First Article Inspections as required.
  • Learn to complete NCR’s for non-conforming material.
  • Work priorities when notified to support customer and/or production needs.
  • Work with Quality Manager and Quality Analyst as needed.
  • Help with or complete special projects at the discretion of the Quality Manager.
