About The Position

Salas O’Brien is seeking a full-time Receiving Inspector to support the Scorpius project in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The position inspects newly received shipments and precision-engineered parts before they are accepted into inventory or released for use, ensuring materials meet purchase-order, drawing, documentation, and quality requirements while supporting timely project execution.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to read basic mechanical drawings, part numbers, and specifications and use precision measuring tools.
Accurate documentation and familiarity with inspection reports and material tracking.
U.S. citizenship is required for this project.
Must be able to successfully complete a background check and drug screening as conditions of employment and site access.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of receiving, quality, or manufacturing inspection experience preferred.
Experience with precision-machine, vacuum-system, or other specialized equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Inspect incoming Scorpius shipments, machined parts, equipment, and assemblies against purchase orders, drawings, and specifications.
Check quantities, part identification, physical condition, material records, and certificates of conformance where required.
Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection procedures to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Document inspection results and material traceability; segregate and report damaged or nonconforming items.
Coordinate discrepancies with inventory, quality, procurement, and engineering before release to assembly.
