About The Position

This position is for a Day shift receiver working from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential for varied hours some weeks. The role involves planning, scheduling, and unloading deliveries, verifying shipment accuracy, inspecting goods for damage or defects, managing inventory, reporting discrepancies, packaging returns, organizing stock, maintaining records, and communicating with various stakeholders. Candidates must be capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards in a challenging work environment. This role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, physical stamina, forklift operation familiarity, and computer proficiency. The work environment includes transitioning between office and warehouse areas, with fluctuating temperatures based on the season. All candidates must pass a background check and drug screening.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds from floor to waist multiples times.
  • Ability to work in a hot or cold environment, on the DC docks and outside as required.
  • Ability to work while standing for prolong periods and/or sitting at a desk for prolong periods for work tasks as needed.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to accurately check and verify information on packing slips, delivery receipts, and purchase orders while processing through SAP, MISC Shippers, RTVPO.
  • Ability to work without interruptions from personal electronic devices and social media alerts.
  • Basic math skills: To calculate quantities and verify order accuracy.
  • Physical stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy boxes or packages of up to 35 pounds from floor level using correct/proper safe lifting techniques.
  • Forklift operation: Familiarity with forklift operation is required.
  • Computer proficiency: Experience working with inventory management systems to update stock levels through multiple apps/systems such as, but not limited to: SAP, Microsoft Office/Excel/Word/Teams/365/SharePoint/Power BI, etc.
  • Organizational skills: Efficiently managing incoming shipments and maintaining warehouse organization and accuracy.
  • Candidates must be capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards in a challenging work environment.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring safe unloading practices are being used by assigned unloading personnel.
  • Verifying and inspecting packaging/product condition and accuracy from load paperwork during receipt of load contents, and reporting any issues or inaccuracies found.
  • Comparing packing slips and invoices to purchase orders to ensure the correct quantity and items are received by collaborating with respected material buyers.
  • Examining deliveries for damage or defects during the receiving process.
  • Conducting inspections of trailers and contents to ensure compliance with safety and loading standards, including CTPAT compliance.
  • Updating inventory records with details of received items in SAP and updating spreadsheets.
  • Participating in inventory management, including performing regular cycle counts when needed.
  • Identifying and reporting any discrepancies between shipment details and purchase orders to relevant personnel and following up on appropriate dispositions from respected business unit buyers and/or production department.
  • Preparing and processing damage or incorrect items for return to the vendor.
  • Working with different departments and business units as needed.
  • Filing lost/missing/damage claims with carriers as required.
  • Properly storing received items in designated warehouse locations and/or transferring to departments while ensuring systematic inventory accuracy.
  • Performing daily floor sweeps to maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance with 5S standards.
  • Keeping the loading dock and shipping office well-maintained, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
  • Keeping detailed records of received shipments, including dates, quantities, damages, and vendor information.
  • Contacting responsible parties regarding delivery issues or discrepancies to gain collaborated dispositions.
  • Filing claims with carriers.
  • Performing various other assigned administrative duties when needed.
