About The Position

NWHSU is seeking an organized and detail oriented Receiving Clerk to join the TruNorth Wellness Hub campus store team. This role is essential to the day-to-day operations of the University, to ensure the seamless arrival and delivery of all University shipments. The Receiving Clerk will work collaboratively across all departments and with external vendors, providing excellent customer service, and managing multiple priorities. This pivotal role combines receiving and inventory responsibilities, retail support, and campus-wide distribution of goods.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • 1-3 years of receiving, shipping, inventory, or related experience, required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus and collaborative attitude
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic to intermediate math skills with the ability to accurately process quantities, pricing, and inventory data
  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs. boxes

Nice To Haves

  • Retail experience, preferred
  • Experience working with purchasing/receiving software
  • Experience operating a Point-of-Sale (POS) system, preferred
  • Non-traditional backgrounds are welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, process, and distribute incoming shipments for the TruNorth Wellness Hub and University departments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, receiving, and purchase order records in University and POS systems.
  • Stock, merchandise, and replenish retail inventory on sales floor.
  • Price merchandise in accordance with established margins and guidelines and enter all appropriate data and changes into POS system.
  • Maintain clean and organized storage areas.
  • Communicate with Purchasing, Accounting, and TruNorth Store Manager on necessary supplies/merchandise, matters of priority, and any receiving questions.
  • Communicate with vendors on expedition of shipping and billing errors, shortages, or defects.
  • Prepare and ship customer orders through USPS and UPS.
  • Deliver packages and goods to appropriate campus departments and individuals.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts, special orders, and departmental projects as assigned.
  • Serve as the primary receiving contact for all incoming University shipments.
  • Performs queries and assists University employees with receiving questions.
