About The Position

The Receiving Clerk is primarily responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming shipments. Duties include receiving, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material. This team member will display a commitment to our values and operate in a manner that provides value to our team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within company values.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency in the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Proficient computer skills including web-based shipping programs required.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Work schedule flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Greet drivers and to process paperwork, including Bill of Lading, Packing Slips, and additional receiving details.
  • Answer phones and provide directions to the plant; send to waiting area if necessary.
  • Schedule incoming freight raw material, live loads, and LTL.
  • Liaise with the Receiving Operators, Carriers and Dispatch to inform them of truck status.
  • Receive incoming material for railcars.
  • Complete shipment paperwork for Direct Ship orders.
  • Work with Purchasing Department to ensure inventory maintenance and alert them of potential shortages and/or problems.
  • Complete paperwork for intracompany transfers.
  • Understand and follow all company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Follow all plant safety procedures in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management.
