About The Position

Valley Natural Foods is looking for a Full-Time Receiving Clerk to help keep their busy, community-owned food co-op running smoothly. The role involves working with deliveries, vendors, inventory, and coworkers throughout the store to ensure products are moved safely, accurately, and efficiently. This is an important behind-the-scenes role in keeping shelves stocked and departments ready to serve customers.

Requirements

• Regular, predictable attendance and ability to consistently work a 6:00 a.m. start time
• Comfort using computer systems
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments
• Clear and effective communication skills and a friendly, service-oriented approach
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with inventory/POS systems and Microsoft Office
• 2+ years previous experience in IMS/Receiving/Operations environment
• Previous experience in retail, grocery/co-ops, natural foods or related industry

Responsibilities

• Receive and check in deliveries accurately and efficiently
• Verify products, quantities, invoices, and paperwork
• Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient receiving area
• Communicate with vendors and store departments to resolve delivery questions or discrepancies
• Move products safely using carts, pallet jacks, and other equipment
• Ensure products are routed to the right departments quickly
• Follow food safety, workplace safety, and inventory procedures
• Pitch in where needed, as teamwork is essential in a co-op
