About The Position

This position is responsible for the accurate receiving and timely delivery of all incoming supplies (or items) and equipment on campus to the requesting department. Responsible for identifying and tagging capital equipment and delivering all patient care equipment to Biomed for incoming inspection. Responsible for packaging, labeling, and coordinating outbound shipments. Demonstrates a commitment to Sharp HealthCare's principles and effectively promotes Sharp HealthCare's commitment to principles.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience with customer service
  • Experience communicating professionally
  • Driver's License - CA Department of Motor Vehicles OR Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A - CA Department of Motor Vehicles OR Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B - CA Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Clean driving record in accordance with the requirements of the employer DMV pull notice program and Sharp HealthCare Driver Guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately receive and timely deliver all incoming supplies, items, and equipment on campus to the requesting department.
  • Identify and tag capital equipment.
  • Deliver all patient care equipment to Biomed for incoming inspection.
  • Package, label, and coordinate outbound shipments.
  • Act as a liaison with departments, communicating delivery information.
  • Regularly accept responsibility for department activities and report questionable matters to leadership.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Utilize proper telephone etiquette, including promptly answering the phone, identifying oneself and the department, displaying courtesy, and returning all calls promptly.
  • Sort incoming mail and packages/parcels from the US Postal Service and various commercial carriers.
  • Accurately receive all incoming items, including data entry and completion of paperwork.
  • Ensure product/equipment is delivered to the requesting department and obtain departmental delivery signatures.
  • Facilitate same-day delivery of all stock supplies as received.
  • Facilitate delivery of non-stock orders within 24 hours.
  • Facilitate the delivery of priority items to appropriate areas within 2 hours of receipt.
  • Facilitate shipping of outbound products and equipment.
  • Appropriately package/assist all outbound shipments according to Department of Transportation guidelines.
  • Accurately process and deliver Capital items, including completion of paperwork, data entry, and asset tagging.
  • Ensure all properly addressed mail is sorted before the end of the day.
  • Create and maintain a filing system for packing slips, receivers, manifests, etc., allowing for easy document retrieval.
  • Prioritize and complete tasks according to the needs of the department/hospital.
  • Complete proper supporting documentation to facilitate the return of damaged goods to the manufacturer/shipper within 2 days of receipt.
  • Ensure that product received matches the packing slip, contacting the supplier about any discrepancies.
  • Investigate improperly or incompletely addressed mail to determine the addressee department.
  • Check package integrity and verify expiration dates, removing and accounting for any items not meeting standards.
  • Regularly check for compromised packaging and/or damage to any incoming equipment or supplies.
  • Maintain accuracy, thoroughness, neatness, clarity, and adherence to a high level of work.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Adhere to correct usage of proper body mechanics and material handling equipment.
  • Keep an organized work environment.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order, escalating any broken, unsafe, or non-functioning equipment to department leadership immediately.
  • Ensure timely removal of corrugated cardboard.

Benefits

  • Hourly Pay Range: $25.000 - $27.640 - $30.490
