About The Position

The Receiving Associate is responsible for ensuring all inbound goods are accurately received, documented, and prepared for storage or further processing. This role blends simple receiving inspection processes as required to ensure only compliant, defect‑free materials enter the production process. The receiving associate role is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and smooth warehouse operations while protecting product quality. Kraken Kinetics currently manages inventory across 3 production facilities in a mid-size molding and assembly manufacturing environment with about 200 raw material part numbers and about 25 active finished goods. This role will mostly require on-site receiving duties based in Whispering Pines with systematic support for receiving processes in the other 2 smaller sites.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, communication, teamwork, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to inspect and verify product quality.
  • Physical stamina for lifting, unloading, and moving materials.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Forklift certification will be required.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle between local manufacturing locations may be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 51 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with WMS/ERP systems is beneficial.
  • 2+ years experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unload inbound shipments from trucks, couriers, or containers.
  • Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or defects.
  • Verify quantities, SKUs, lot numbers, and expiration dates against purchase orders, packing lists, and bills of lading.
  • Document discrepancies with notes and photos when needed.
  • When required, verify quantity, dimensions, and specifications using precision measuring tools such as jigs, calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
  • Review and validate documentation (Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, test reports) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain inspection logs and audit records for internal and external audits.
  • Segregate and label non‑conforming or defective materials, and prepare Non‑Conforming Material Reports (NCRs)
  • Record received items in warehouse management systems (NetSuite WMS/ERP).
  • Update inventory levels and reconcile receiving records with purchase orders.
  • File and organize receiving documents (packing slips, delivery receipts).
  • Label goods with barcodes, location IDs, or product tags.
  • Store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts (if certified).
  • Notify purchasing or management of shortages, overages, or damaged goods.
  • Work with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain inbound flow.
