The Receiving Assistant is responsible for assisting the Receiving Manager in the successful operation of the receiving department. This position involves providing world-class customer service, exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence, and adhering to all company policies. The role supports store opening and closing activities, handles register functions, and maintains safety and security. It also includes assisting in training and monitoring department personnel and providing store backup on the sales floor when receiving duties are complete. The position requires working a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, for five days and 40 hours per week, and attending mandatory store meetings. While it has limited Manager on Duty responsibilities, it is not intended to be the overall Manager on Duty for the store. All employees are expected to be “hands on” and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive.
