The Receiving Assistant is responsible for assisting the Receiving Manager in the successful operation of the receiving department. This role involves providing world-class customer service, exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence, and adhering to all policies. The assistant will accurately receive all incoming products, scan products, stage products for delivery, process various paperwork, and research discrepancies. Communication with department managers regarding delivery issues and vendor out-of-stocks is crucial. The role also includes operating a forklift and pallet jack, maintaining a clean back room, supporting store opening and closing activities, handling register functions, and ensuring the safety and security of customers and employees. Additionally, the Receiving Assistant will assist in training and monitoring department personnel, provide store backup on the sales floor when receiving duties are complete, answer customer questions, and increase product knowledge. Proficiency in SAP, inventory management software, email, and other IS programs is required. The schedule is based on store needs and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, requiring five days and 40 hours per week. This position has limited Manager on Duty responsibilities and is not intended to be the overall Manager on Duty for the store. Employees are expected to be hands-on and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
