The Receiving Assistant is responsible for assisting the Receiving Manager in the successful operation of the receiving department. This role involves providing world-class customer service, maintaining integrity, responsibility, and excellence, and adhering to all company policies. Key duties include accurately receiving incoming products, scanning products, staging products for the sales floor, processing various paperwork, researching discrepancies, and communicating with department managers about delivery issues. The position also requires operating a forklift and pallet jack, maintaining a clean back room, and supporting store opening and closing activities, including cash handling and cashier closeout responsibilities. Additionally, the Receiving Assistant will handle register functions, ensure the safety and security of customers and employees, assist in training and monitoring department personnel, and provide backup on the sales floor when receiving duties are complete. The role also involves answering customer questions, increasing product knowledge, and utilizing various software programs. The schedule is based on store needs and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, requiring five days and 40 hours per week, with mandatory store meetings. This position is not intended to be the overall Manager on Duty for the store, but employees are expected to be hands-on and do whatever it takes to ensure the company thrives.
