About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all incoming goods. This role requires knowledge of receiving policies and procedures, including inventory management, damage inspection, and security protocols. The Receiver will maintain organized and safe backroom and receiving areas, ensuring all products and supplies are handled properly. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Certification required for operation of forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency in using pallet jack, forklift, box cutters, ordering machine, computer, and two-wheeler.
  • Basic math skills including units of money, weight, measurement, volume, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, and inventory.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination.
  • Ability to hear and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the entire work day.
  • Ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds.

  • Previous receiving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all receiving policies and procedures, including shrink awareness, point of sale and inventory hand unit proficiency, price look up, and vendor communication.
  • Maintain signature logs, backroom sweep sheets, and daily, weekly, and monthly equipment logs.
  • Verify item count, cost, and quality on all invoices.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack, and maintain relevant certifications.
  • Perform exception reporting, pallet tracking, invoicing, and filing.
  • Manage reclamation processes and generate invoice reports.
  • Ensure proper processing and safe delivery of invoices and other documents to the store office.
  • Inspect receipt of products for concealed damage and ensure proper recording, storage, and handling of damaged items.
  • Maintain security of back door exits by inspecting all items leaving the area and properly securing exit doors.
  • Organize product and supplies in a sanitary, clean, secure, and safe manner within the receiving area.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity.
