About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all incoming goods. This role requires knowledge of receiving policies and procedures, including inventory management, invoice processing, and maintaining a secure and organized backroom. The Receiver plays a key part in maintaining product quality, controlling inventory, and ensuring the safety and security of the receiving area.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Certification required for operation of forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency in using pallet jack, forklift, box cutters, ordering machine, computer, two-wheeler, etc.
  • Basic math skills including units of money, weight, measurement, volume, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, inventory, and other assigned paperwork.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination.
  • Ability to hear and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the entire work day.
  • Ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous receiving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all receiving policies and procedures, including shrink awareness, point of sale and inventory hand unit proficiency, price look up, and vendor communication.
  • Maintain equipment logs (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Verify item count, cost, and quality on all invoices.
  • Process and safely deliver invoices, documents, and records to the store office.
  • Inspect receipts for concealed damage and ensure proper recording, storage, and handling of damaged items.
  • Maintain security of back door exits by inspecting items leaving the area and properly securing doors.
  • Organize product and supplies in a sanitary, clean, secure, and safe manner within the receiving area.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity.
