About The Position

Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a Receiver for our 660,000 square foot distribution centre in Johnstown, Ontario! This role involves unloading goods, verifying items against purchase orders, reporting quality variances, entering product information into computer systems, assigning pick locations, applying License Plate Numbers, signing transport documentation, and completing non-compliance reports for vendors who do not follow shipping standards.

Requirements

Completion of High School
Class G2 or higher driver’s licence
Successful completion of a forklift training program
Familiar with material handling equipment
Excellent communication skills
Self-motivated; ability to work without direct supervision
Experience with or a basic understanding of personal computer is required
Must complete three days of paid machine training and successfully obtain in-house certification
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and maintain authorization for the duration of employment

Nice To Haves

Voice picking or Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMOS) experience is an asset

Responsibilities

Unloading of goods in a safe and efficient manner using a counter balance or low lift forklift
Verify items received for accuracy against purchase orders (ASNs)
Report quality variances and ensure accuracy in the type and quantity of received product
Enter product information into computer systems
Assign active pick locations for new products
Apply License Plate Numbers (LPNs) verifying physical quantity of merchandise with quantity indicated on the ASN
Clearly sign all transport documentation and indicate any discrepancies
Complete non-compliance for vendors who do not follow GTW’s shipping standards
