About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for operating Meat processing equipment and high-speed packaging lines in the production room. This individual must possess knowledge of assembling and disassembling various machines and ensuring all equipment runs efficiently throughout the shift. This position reports to the Production Supervisor(s).

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to multitask and communicate with personnel of all levels and cultural backgrounds.
Meat processing plant & High packaging line experience
Strong work ethic, communication skills in English, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely across departments
Ability to maintain a safe work environment and follow safety rules, SOPs, and GMP guidelines set in place
Superior standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety
Possess a team-oriented approach to tasks
Ability to work in a cold environment (27F- 45F)
Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedures set forth by Verde Farms
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred
OEE Software experience preferred
Bilingual in Spanish (is a plus, not a requirement)
Highly collaborative, perceptive, and operate with integrity

Responsibilities

Support the Processing Department by supplying consumables/components
Support picking custom printed labels, films, corrugated boxes, and other consumables as requested
Operate the Case erector equipment to supply the production room with boxes.
Read and understand the daily processing schedule to support product just-in-time delivery
Audit product picking for accuracy before sending to processing
Use a Warehouse Management System to manage and control inventory, workflow, etc.
Coordinate with processing/warehouse on returned consumables; reject and quarantine product that is not up to quality standards
Oversee a staff of 5-10 temporary employees and ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively during the shift
Operate a stand behind forklift (for example, perform basic operations such as driving forward and backwards, lifting and lowering the boom, and maneuvering in tight areas without causing damage while following all safety regulations)
Change labels and recipes in the machine as needed
Execute job functions safely, leading by example to the staff
Ensure proper communication, training, and compliance to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to proper use of PPEs, safe ergonomic practices, and proper/safe handling of food products
Ensure execution of cleaning and sanitation practices that are in strict accordance with both Government regulation and Verde Farms Meat Production policies and procedures
Ensure proper Health & Safety practices are adhered to in an effort towards optimizing efficiency, work safety and food safety
Provide additional support and perform other duties as requested by management, within the scope and abilities
