About The Position
As a Receiver/Stocker at Lowe’s, you help keep the store clean, safe, and ready for customers by receiving freight, stocking shelves, and organizing merchandise and top stock. You unload deliveries, handle equipment and hazardous materials safely, and prepare your work area for daily operations. The role is physical and fast-paced, involves spending most of the shift on your feet, and may include assisting customers or teammates with a friendly, professional attitude. Work includes unloading freight, moving products to the sales floor, maintaining organized backrooms and shelves, verifying deliveries, and completing dock preparation. Depending on store needs, schedules may include morning, evening, or overnight hours. In Pro Fulfillment Stores, duties also include picking and staging Flatbed Delivery orders, loading orders, rotating orders by delivery date, resolving customer order issues, communicating with customers about delivery satisfaction, and following Delivery Readiness practices. Working conditions vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor weather, extreme heat or cold, wet or humid conditions, wind or drafts, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates must follow safe lifting guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required with proper training or help from a trained coworker. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support at nearby stores.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement, if applicable.
- Follow safe lifting guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; use team lifts minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- 3 months of experience operating forklifts or power equipment such as lifts and order pickers.
- 6 months of experience in a warehouse performing inventory handling and stocking.
- Bilingual, military, or veteran background; Lowe’s encourages candidates with these backgrounds to apply.
Responsibilities
- Deliver SMART customer service by assisting customers, answering questions, and offering project support.
- Stock merchandise by unloading freight, down-stocking, organizing shelves, and setting up pallets.
- Support store operations by verifying deliveries, completing dock preparation, and using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment by following procedures for hazardous materials, equipment use, and housekeeping.
- Operate store equipment including scanners, Zebra phones, balers, and other tools as needed.
- Work as a team player and complete other assigned tasks.
- At Pro Fulfillment Stores, use the Orders App to pick and stage Flatbed Delivery orders.
- Load delivery orders while ensuring quality, accuracy, and safe loading practices.
- Rotate orders by delivery date and resolve customer order issues.
- Communicate proactively with customers to ensure delivery satisfaction.
- Execute Delivery Readiness best practices.
