About The Position
As a Receiver/Stocker at Lowe’s, you help keep the store clean, safe, and ready for customers by receiving freight, stocking shelves, and organizing merchandise and top stock. The role involves unloading deliveries, safely handling equipment and hazardous materials, and preparing the work area for daily operations. It is physical and fast-paced, with most of the shift spent on your feet. Shifts may be scheduled in the morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight according to store needs. Associates also assist customers and teammates with a friendly, professional attitude. The position includes unloading freight, moving merchandise to the sales floor, organizing backrooms, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and potentially helping customers locate or load products. At Pro Fulfillment Stores, additional work includes picking and staging flatbed delivery orders, loading and rotating orders, resolving order issues, communicating with customers, and following delivery-readiness practices. The role does not require regular travel, though occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or nearby-store support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement where applicable.
- Follow safe lifting practices; single lifts are limited to 75 pounds, and team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required only with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- Three months of experience operating forklifts or power equipment such as lifts and order pickers.
- Six months of experience in a warehouse performing inventory handling and stocking.
- Bilingual, military, or veteran background.
Responsibilities
- Deliver SMART customer service by assisting customers, answering questions, and offering support during projects.
- Unload freight, down-stock merchandise, organize shelves, set up pallets, and move products to the sales floor.
- Verify deliveries and complete dock preparation.
- Use pallet jacks, forklifts, scanners, Zebra phones, balers, and other store equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following procedures for hazardous materials, equipment use, and housekeeping.
- Assist customers in locating or loading products when needed.
- Work as a team player and complete other assigned tasks.
- At Pro Fulfillment Stores, use the Orders App to pick and stage flatbed delivery orders.
- At Pro Fulfillment Stores, load delivery orders accurately and safely, rotate orders by delivery date, resolve customer order issues, communicate with customers about delivery satisfaction, and follow Delivery Readiness best practices.
