Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field OR combination of technical certification and two years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the position.
  • Receipt inspector experience in a nuclear quality assurance environment.
  • Experience in performing detailed reviews of quality documentation to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools and equipment, such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Basic understanding of quality management system requirements and related documentation.
  • Experience in the preparation of QA procedures for review, approval, and issuance in accordance with requirements and/or standards.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently and in a team environment. This person will interface with the quality control team and the manufacturing plant.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and document non-conformities accurately.
  • Proficient in using computer applications, including Microsoft Office, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and quality control software.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

  • Approve incoming parts and materials by confirming compliance to purchase orders, technical specifications, and drawings.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to verify product conformance.
  • Review and validate supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material test reports (MTRs), dimensional inspection reports, non-destructive examination (NDE) test reports, and other quality records.
  • Verify traceability of materials where required by Centrus specifications.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections as needed using calibrated tools and approved inspection methods.
  • Perform detailed measurements and examinations using precision tools and equipment, such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Document inspection results accurately in the quality management system including nonconformances, discrepancies, and acceptance records.
  • Segregate and control nonconforming items. Initiate, track, and complete nonconformance reports. Support follow up actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Suppler Quality to resolve technical issues and ensure proper disposition of inspected items.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures and work instructions.
