About The Position

The Rebuild Mechanic is responsible for the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly of reciprocating engine and compressor components and auxiliary equipment. This role requires the use of precision measuring instruments to assess the dimensional integrity of parts and collaboration with team members to develop repair plans. The mechanic will ensure proper handling and organization of components, perform reassembly according to technical specifications, and oversee test runs and quality assurance checks. Adherence to safety regulations, including the use of PPE, and maintaining a clean work environment are essential. The role may involve operating overhead cranes, torches, grinders, and forklifts, and requires the ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed. The mechanic will work independently in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for recording parts used and requisitioning new materials.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements and assess dimensional integrity of parts.
  • Understanding of technical specifications and quality standards for mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of PPE.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, torches, grinders, and forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly of reciprocating engine and compressor components and auxiliary equipment.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges) to take accurate measurements and assess dimensional integrity of parts.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze inspection results and develop repair plans for mechanical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and organization of disassembled equipment components.
  • Perform reassembly of repaired or replaced components in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee and sign off on test runs and quality assurance checks.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, wear required and appropriate PPE.
  • Observe and follow company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders, and forklifts when required.
  • Work overtime, nights, and weekends as deemed necessary by management.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced, productive environment.
  • Record parts and materials used, and process requisition of new parts and material.
