About The Position

Join Hire Hangar and work with fast-growing global companies while building a long-term career. We are looking for a detail-oriented Energy Rebate Processing Specialist to own the rebate submission function for a growing energy-efficiency and home-services business. In this role, you will collect and organize energy audit documentation, submit rebate applications to government and utility programs, and follow up persistently until every application is approved and paid. This is follow-up-intensive administrative work where accuracy directly protects revenue. If you are organized, tenacious, a fast learner, and genuinely comfortable handling administrative work at volume as part of a small, high-standards team, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

Strong computer proficiency, including online portals, spreadsheets, document management systems, and government submission platforms.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with specific documentation requirements.
Tenacious, persistent follow-through. You do not let open items sit unresolved.
Fast learner who takes notes and retains information. All programs will be taught from scratch.
Self-motivated and efficient, with the ability to manage a high volume of submissions without close supervision.
Genuine comfort with high-volume administrative work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with leadership in a small, tight-knit team.
Availability to work in-office in Brooklyn four days per week, with one remote day.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in an administrative, data entry, or document processing role with high accuracy requirements.
Familiarity with AI tools and ideas for automating or streamlining workflows.
Knowledge of government rebate programs, energy efficiency incentives, or utility programs such as NYSERDA, Con Edison, or PSEG.
Background in construction, contracting, HVAC, or home services.
Experience managing multiple concurrent workflows or case files.

Responsibilities

Collect and process energy audit documentation, including photos, measurements, square footage, insulation data, and property information required for rebate submissions.
Prepare and submit rebate applications to programs such as NYSERDA, Con Edison, EmPower+ / NYHEP, Clean Heat, PSEG Long Island, and National Grid, following each program's specific requirements.
Track the status of all submitted applications and follow up proactively to move them through approval and payment.
Identify and resolve discrepancies, missing documents, and submission errors quickly and independently.
Maintain accurate internal records of all submissions, statuses, and outcomes.
Coordinate with the installation team to ensure documentation is captured at the appropriate stage of each job.
Stay current on program updates, rule changes, and deadlines across all rebate programs.
Support general administrative tasks related to the rebate function as needed.
