About The Position

United Concrete is looking for motivated Rebar Tack Welders to join their precast concrete manufacturing team. This role is suitable for recent graduates from welding school or individuals with 1-2 years of experience. The position involves tack welding rebar into cages, mats, and assemblies according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring proper spacing, alignment, and dimensions. Welders will also inspect welds and assemblies for quality and structural integrity before concrete pours, operate MIG welding equipment, and provide general labor support to meet production quotas in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

MIG Welding experience
Open to candidates straight out of welding school or with 1–2 years of experience
Must have the ability to read a tape measure accurately and the ability to add and subtract
Must have the ability to read and comprehend basic verbal and written instructions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Be dependable with respect to attendance and tardiness
Protective toe footwear is required

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a manual labor environment preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Tack weld rebar into cages, mats, and assemblies according to blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
Position and secure rebar to ensure proper spacing, alignment, and dimensions for precast concrete forms
Inspect welds and rebar assemblies for accuracy, quality, and structural integrity prior to concrete pour
Operate MIG welding equipment safely and efficiently in a production setting
Provide general labor support as needed
Meet daily/weekly production quotas
Maintain a safe and clean work space
Perform general tasks around the production plant
Be accustomed to a fast-paced environment
