About The Position
Ocean Steel, incorporated in 1955, services markets including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. They specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, and also manufacture and install platework such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks, and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel's two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John, as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, acquired in 1995.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years experience in steel fabrication environment
- Blueprint reading
- Completion of high school
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Overhead Crane or rigging and hoisting is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Operate of the steel fabrication equipment: band saws, CNC punches, shears, CNC drill and burning machines
- Safely operate Overhead Crane
- Clean and maintain workspace
