About The Position

Under supervision of the Real Estate Administrator, this role involves negotiating, researching, and preparing all legal documentation required for real estate transactions, including acquisitions and leases, for the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS). The specialist will manage daily operations related to lease evaluation and negotiation, review lease program activities to ensure compliance with fiscal policies and procedures, and analyze programs and procedures to identify problems, provide resolutions, and recommend modifications to current lease review processes.

Requirements

  • 36 months of training or experience in real estate, property management, or a related field.
  • Travel is required.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation.
  • Completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, real estate, property management, or a related field AND 12 months of training or experience in real estate or property management.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Infrequent overnight travel may be required.
  • On rare occasions may be exposed to unpleasant weather conditions & high temperatures.
  • May be required to work flexible hours based on scheduled appointments.
  • A BCI fingerprint check, a background check, may be required on all selected applicants.
  • A comparative analysis and/or drug test may be a requirement of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Review lease program activities to ensure compliance with fiscal related policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and evaluate programs and procedures by identifying problems during lease review, providing resolutions, and recommending proposed modifications to current lease review processes.
