Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Project
  • Ability to write legal descriptions
  • Have the knowledge to draft the following types of real estate documents: deed, easement and lease
  • Must have experience and procedure using purchase property as an eminent domain purchase
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 5 years experience with public agency acquisitions
  • ARGUS and ECONPAK software a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-negotiation project, parcel and property owner due diligence and non-complex negotiations for acquisition of rights relative to public or private projects as assigned
  • Review appraisals and research comparable properties, prepare Market Analysis and Waiver Valuations following the Federal and State guidelines as applicable
  • Verify ownership and the extent of interests; prepare offer packages; and maintain complete and detailed records/files with owner contacts , agency representatives, project team
  • Prepare non-survey quality maps, drawings, exhibits and detailed progress reports to provide to owners and clients to aid in the Agent’s negotiations
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with federal, state and local agencies, private industry and landowners to facilitate the acquisition of necessary right of way for public projects
  • Knowledgeable in title research and utility acquisition practices for permanent and temporary easements
  • Be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experienced with relational databases and agreement documentation
  • Conduct research and navigate the Internet
  • Read, review and quality check engineering project plans and legal descriptions
  • Draft various types of real estate documents, such as but not limited to deeds, easements, leases, and purchase agreements
  • Be available for travel (in state and out of state) as needed
