The applicant must have the ability to critically review, analyze and structure commercial loans, cross sell other bank products, and attract new business to Commerce Bank. Strong Marketing and credit analysis skills are required. Heavy calling on clients/prospects/referral sources of 250+ calls per year is expected of the applicant. The candidate should be goal-oriented with strong sales skills that will enable them to facilitate and cultivate leads. This position involves both the comprehensive management of existing customer relationships as well as soliciting new business opportunities with targeted prospects. This Commercial Banking position manages a loan portfolio of $25MM to $50MM. The candidate will serve as the relationship manager between the customer and other areas of the Bank in resolving customer problems and meeting the customer's needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 5+ years of commercial real estate / banking experience required

Responsibilities

  • Perform calling activities with assigned customers and targeted prospects with the objective to acquire new business
  • Serve as the primary advisor for an assigned portfolio of diverse and complex Commercial Real Estate (CRE) relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Coordinate with product partners to cross-sell a full range of products and services
  • Critically review and analyze portfolio to reduce risk and enhance profitability
  • Facilitate credit requests, including loan structuring, negotiating/pricing, collateral, ensuring adequate loan documentation, and analyzing industry/credit risk
  • Facilitate the resolution of customer problems, engaging product experts as needed
  • Participate in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the Bank and to establish referral contacts within the marketplace
  • Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, regulations, and laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned
