About The Position

The Real Estate Strategy & Planning team within Cisco's Workplace Resources (WPR) organization is responsible for designing and operating Cisco's corporate real estate footprint. This team translates business priorities into agile real estate strategies for both office spaces and technical infrastructure. The Real Estate Lead for the Americas will manage lease transactions and administration for North and Latin America, overseeing an annual budget exceeding $100M USD and leading significant transactions for regional hubs and data centers.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of progressive corporate real estate, transaction management, or property investment experience managing large, multi-market corporate portfolios.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading large commercial leases and complex market strategies across the Americas.
  • Strong background navigating diverse commercial markets, with familiarity in tech office dynamics and data center/mission-critical environments.
  • Adept at real estate financial modeling, capital budgeting, and translating US GAAP/lease accounting principles into strategic decisions.
  • Working knowledge of site due diligence, easements, environmental considerations (such as CEQA/SEPA), and local municipal approval processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Industry designations such as MCR (CoreNet) or RICS.
  • Financial modeling, project management, or Lean Six Sigma skills.
  • International experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end lease negotiations, acquisitions, renewals, subleases, and dispositions, developing creative deal structures to mitigate costs and maximize operational value.
  • Collaboratively advise WPR teams and businesses on regional portfolio strategies for expansion, consolidation, or repositioning of leased properties.
  • Develop, review, and present data-driven financial models (cash flow, P&L, US GAAP lease accounting) to Senior Leadership for recommendations.
  • Identify and integrate AI tools and modern analytics to improve lease administration, critical date governance, market benchmarking, and portfolio reporting.
  • Direct brokerage firms, development advisors, and legal counsel to ensure best-in-class execution and compliance with lease obligations, building codes, and local guidelines.
  • Advise and integrate the needs of Design & Construction, Workplace Operations, Legal, Tax, Finance, and Sustainability into leases and operating practices.
