The Real Estate & Development Reporter will cover a wide and fast-moving range of topics, including real estate trends and major listings, routinely reaching $10M or more in Sarasota-Manatee; major development proposals, including in the booming Lakewood Ranch master-planned community; business openings and closings, with a focus on grocery stores, retail and resorts; tourism impact stories, as well as major attractions including famed Siesta Beach; and high-interest, trending topics of the day ranging from where service members can get a free meal on Veterans Day to which local billionaires landed on the latest list of the world’s richest people. This reporter will be responsible for quickly identifying and executing on timely, high-interest news, with a focus on development, real estate and growth stories that consistently drive strong pageview performance. The role is expected to be first in market on major breaking news whenever possible and to produce a steady mix of fast-turn and enterprise stories that capture audience demand. This position will also support ReNewsing Florida state initiatives and contribute to Connect team coverage, ensuring strong collaboration across the network.
Requirements
- Ability to cover real estate trends and major listings, routinely reaching $10M or more in Sarasota-Manatee.
- Ability to cover major development proposals, including in the booming Lakewood Ranch master-planned community.
- Ability to cover business openings and closings, with a focus on grocery stores, retail and resorts.
- Ability to cover tourism impact stories, as well as major attractions including famed Siesta Beach.
- Ability to cover high-interest, trending topics of the day ranging from where service members can get a free meal on Veterans Day to which local billionaires landed on the latest list of the world’s richest people.
- Must be authorized to work in the applicable location.
