About The Position

The Analyst, Development Underwriting supports front-end feasibility underwriting for GPG's ground-up development and redevelopment pipeline, working primarily within existing development model templates. The role exists to take front-end diligence and modeling work off the plate of GPG's development leadership as the pipeline grows, freeing up senior team members to focus on the highest-value decisions. This is a close, high-interface working relationship with development leadership rather than an independent-ownership seat: the Analyst will work directly with the VP of Development day to day, with additional touchpoints from other members of the development and executive team as needed.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience underwriting real estate transactions. A genuine real estate background is required — development, acquisitions, brokerage, real estate private equity, and the debt/lending side are all strong paths, so long as the underlying experience is real estate.
  • Comfortable working within, and helping refine, existing financial model templates.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills.
  • Comfortable working closely with development leadership day to day, with the judgment to know when to flag issues versus resolve them independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field.
